Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide high-level patient-centered care in a physician office setting, including measuring vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting providers.

You will administer medications, handle patient calls per practice protocols, maintain supply inventory, stock exam rooms, and may float to other UFHP practices as needed; Florida LPN license and BLS required, plus successful medication test within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in Florida.
• Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• AHA or Red Cross CPR required or obtained within 90 days.
• Must maintain CPR certification and pass medication test within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

• Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
• One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to multitask
• Excellent patient/customer service skills
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
• Team-focused approach

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Current Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida
• Florida is part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) Act
• AHA or Red Cross Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment
• Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Must successfully complete medication test within 30 days of hire

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

• Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose
