Job summary

UF Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to deliver high-level patient-centered care in a physician office setting. Responsibilities include vital signs, rooming patients, assisting with exams, administering medications, and patient education.

Job description

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse will focus on providing high level patient-centered care in a physician office setting by measuring and recording vital signs, placing patients in exam rooms, preparing patients for exams/procedures, assisting the health care provider with exams/procedures, providing patient support during exams, maintaining medical supply inventory, and stocking exam rooms. The LPN will also provide patient care by administering medications, processing patient phone calls per practice protocols, instructing patients regarding health care and treatments, and providing health care provider with information pertaining to patients' health status. May be required to float to other UFHP practices, as needed, for staffing.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license eligible to practice in the State of Florida.


• One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.


• Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multitask.


• Excellent patient/customer service, verbal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Florida LPN license eligible for practice in the State of Florida. Florida participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).


• American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required upon hire or within the first 90 days of employment. Certification must be maintained.


• Must successfully complete a medication test within 30 days of hire.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation

• Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose.
