Job summary

Beasley Timber Company/Tri-Creek Forest Products is seeking a Shovel Operator to help move timber to accessible areas for skidder operations. You will read and follow Georgia BMPs, inspect equipment, and work closely with co-workers to maintain safety and productivity.

Primary duties include checking oil, coolant, and hydraulic levels at shift start, inspecting for leaks, adjusting tracks per manufacturer, and shoveling wood to mats or ground as needed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Must be able to work with and assist co-workers.
• Must read and understand forestry BMPs.

Responsibilities

• Move timbers to areas accessible for skidder operator.
• Shovel wood to mats for skidder access.
• Shovel wood in wet areas to higher ground for skidder access.
• Inspect engine oil, coolant, and hydraulic levels at start of shift.
• Inspect equipment for leaks or damaged hydraulic lines before operating.
• Adjust tracks per manufacturer recommendations.
• Wear appropriate PPE when necessary.
