Salary

105,000-160,200 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.)

Clay, NY (Full‑Time Office/Project). Telework Type: Full‑Time Office/Project.

Job Summary

In this role, you will provide non‑routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling support to projects. You will establish stakeholder relationships, conduct schedule analysis and integrate activities, identify restraints, quantify risks, monitor cost and performance, recommend alternatives, and deliver training sessions and workshops. Your activities will synthesize project components into seamless execution.

Major Responsibilities
  • Coordinate non‑routine cost engineering/planning and scheduling needs to projects
  • Coordinate with all departments to ensure understanding of total project schedule needs
  • Conduct project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities
  • Collect and analyze alternatives for schedule improvement
  • Assist, when requested, in the development and review of schedule recovery plans, including evaluation of additional resources/costs required to affect such plans
  • Coordinate the development and accuracy of cost reports
  • Prepare specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
  • Lead risk workshops, interviews and information gathering as it relates to risk identification, review, and update
  • Carry out risk quantification activities as required
  • Deliver training sessions and facilitate workshops
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 8‑10 years of relevant experience, or 12‑14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Extensive experience implementing change‑management processes and tools, performing cost trend estimates for project cost trend programs, and interfacing with schedule and cost systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral/written) with the ability to understand and interpret technical and non‑technical scope impacts for trend and baseline change documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience executing, monitoring, and evaluating cost‑engineering activities, including cost estimates, cost control, and cost analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes, and a solid understanding of relevant Controller instructions that affect Project Controls.
  • Competent in engineering, procurement, contracting, construction, and startup processes, in accordance with Bechtel’s operational standards.
  • Experience reviewing designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggesting alternatives when appropriate.
  • Experience preparing cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
  • Develops innovative new techniques to meet specific needs, as required.
