Summary

Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. M&T serves customers in the semiconductor, datacenter, life sciences, and electric vehicle markets. M&T strives to exceed objectives through agility, innovative technologies, and world class talent. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T unit includes colleagues in multiple locations.

Major Responsibilities

• Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed
• Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
• Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
• Prepares cost data for proposals or contracts
• Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports
• Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency
• Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures
• Collects and classifies cost data
• Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
• Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems driven by data.
• Strong knowledge of Bechtel's financial reporting systems, controller account codes, and cost management system (Ecosys).
• Ability to independently provide guidance, training and coaching to junior Cost Engineers with multiple backgrounds and experience.
• Excellent communications and presentation skills to summarize analyses and implement cost containment plans.
• Flexibility to respond to urgent project requests and changing priorities.
• Preferred experience in Data Center EPC.
