Job Description

This semi-skilled manual position involves pruning, felling, and removing trees on City-owned property and rights-of-way, often in challenging or hazardous situations requiring comprehensive knowledge of tree removal techniques. Responsibilities include work site planning, utilizing proper safety measures, and operating and maintaining assigned equipment.

Salary

$17.56 – $26.49 Hourly

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Valid Driver License and ability to maintain it
  • Obtain a Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver License with “N” endorsement within 12 months of employment
  • At least six months of experience in tree trimming with related tools and equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Availability to respond during emergencies, as this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to climb and work in high, hazardous, or precarious locations under various weather conditions
  • Ability to manipulate, lift, or move heavy equipment and objects
  • Experience operating trucks, winches, loaders, woodchippers, chainsaws, and other tree removal tools
  • Endurance to walk long hours alone in different environments
  • Knowledge of forestry, tree trimming, removal methods, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance
