Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is hiring a Trimmer/Climber Foreperson in Vandalia, IL. The role oversees daily crew operations, coordinates work orders, ensures safety, and maintains records and customer relations.

The Foreperson will train crew members on new tasks, enforce OSHA safety standards, and collaborate with management on recruiting needs and deadlines. Union wage scale applies, with benefits listed by Local 702.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, line equipment, etc.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Possess organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Capable of adjusting to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.
• Able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Weight limit should not exceed approximately 300 pounds.
• No fear of heights.
• Willing to pay union dues.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after receiving orders.
• Conducts field training and retraining for crew on new or revised job units.
• Enforces safe work practices per policy and OSHA guidelines.
• Improves customer relations and handles routine communications with property owners.
• Maintains records, timesheets, and crew reports.
• Manages crew costs, equipment use, and productivity.
• Maintains vehicle and equipment; DOT maintenance and inspections.
