Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking entry-level and skilled Trimmers and Climbers for full-time roles in Radford, VA. The job involves outdoor tree trimming, climbing, and operating power tools to provide line clearance for utilities.

On-the-job training is provided and safety is emphasized in all weather conditions. Compensation is hourly and based on experience, with benefits including health insurance and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Walk, climb, and work from ladders or at heights on uneven surfaces under demanding conditions.
• Ability to identify tree and shrub species.
• Willing and able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with ladder, safety belt, or from ground using saws.
• Uses wedges and saws to fell trees and trim trunks, and splits logs.
• Operate and service required tools/equipment.
• Plan, assign, direct, and coordinate work with crew.
• Obtain permission from property owners to trim or remove trees.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations.
• Load/unload trucks and feed debris into a woodchipper.
• Ensure safe condition of tools, trucks, and equipment.
