Job Summary:
The Arborist plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal of our onstage landscaping for our guests. They provide horticultural support to the Global team, ensuring that the 'Guest Facing' horticulture meets Walt Disney World standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in tree production, care, pruning, and moving. This role may involve work from elevated platforms and in confined spaces across Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $24.76 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled arboriculture maintenance
  • Operate forklifts, Lull, box trucks, ladders, and work at heights
  • Climb trees using ropes and saddles
  • Use tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial work platforms (AWP), and bucket trucks
  • Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies as required
  • Use additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, hand sanitizers, etc.) as needed
Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Horticulture or Agriculture
  • Ability to meet aerial rescue climbing requirements
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards (ANSI Z133) and procedures (ANSI 300)
  • Knowledge of southern tree species
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Valid CDL Class “A” license with air brakes endorsement
  • Availability for a 3rd shift role
  • Proficiency in English speaking and reading for guest communication
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ISA certification preferred
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team player
  • Proficiency in standard office software and mobile devices
  • Skills in tree transplanting, loading, pruning (natural and geometric styles), and proper planting
