Job summary

Intuit Inc. in California is seeking a skilled Tree Trimmer to perform aerial pruning, trimming, and removals in support of utility line clearance. The role requires knowledge of tree biology, safe climbing practices, and regulatory compliance.

You will climb, operate saws and pole tools, mentor apprentices, keep records, and maintain gear, with emphasis on safety and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Tree Trimmer performs skilled aerial and ground-level tree pruning, trimming, and removal operations in support of utility line clearance and vegetation management programs. This role requires advanced knowledge of tree biology, safe climbing practices, and regulatory compliance.

Senior Tree Trimmer

Key Responsibilities

• Performs directional pruning, crown reduction, and removal operations to utility line clearance specifications
• Climbs trees using approved techniques (rope & saddle, aerial lift) following ANSI Z133 standards
• Operates chain saws, hand saws, and pole tools at height and on the ground
• Identifies tree species, hazardous conditions, and disease indicators; reports findings to Crew Leader
• Maintains minimum approach distances from energized conductors at all times
• Participates in daily tailgate safety briefings and JHA reviews
• Mentors Apprentice Tree Trimmers and supports crew development
• Completes production records and communicates work completion accurately
• Maintains all personal climbing gear and tools per manufacturer and company standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in tree trimming, arboriculture, or utility line clearance
• Demonstrated competency in aerial climbing or aerial lift operations
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910.269 and ANSI Z133 safety standards
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments year-round

Preferred Qualifications

• ISA Certified Arborist credential
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• First Aid / CPR certification
• Experience with utility vegetation management programs

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This role involves extensive climbing, sustained physical exertion at height, and outdoor exposure to all weather conditions. Tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and sustained work in elevated positions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
