Overview

For over 25 years, G&A Partners has been helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, improve employee care, and enhance quality of life through proven HR solutions and technology. Currently, G&A Partners is seeking a Tree Climber/Tree Trimmer to join its team in Austin, TX.

Summary

The role involves trimming and removing trees, clearing vegetation, operating equipment, and assessing tree health to promote sustainability and growth.

Responsibilities

1. Tree pruning, removal, brush chipping, and stump grinding
2. Using climbing hooks, belts, ropes, and ladders safely
3. Operating and maintaining equipment such as chainsaws, pruners, chippers, and sprayers
4. Transplanting and removing trees and shrubs
5. Inspecting trees for disease or pests
6. Working at heights in the tree canopy
7. Processing large debris for woodchipper feeding
8. Loading and unloading trucks
9. Performing additional tasks as assigned
10. Applying treatments to diseased trees, including chemical mixing and spray calibration
11. Identifying and reporting tree failure risks to supervisors

Non-Negotiables

1. Completion and passing of pre-employment background and MVR checks
2. Completion of First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 courses within 90 days of hire or proof of current certification
3. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 100 pounds frequently

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and reliable transportation
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist and Licensed Commercial Applicator
• At least 3 years of experience in landscaping, construction, or related fields
• Experience working on tree trimming or brush clearing crews
• Skills in tree pruning, removal, chipping, and stump grinding
• Proficiency with climbing gear and equipment maintenance
• Experience transplanting/removing trees and inspecting for pests/diseases
• Ability to work at height in the tree canopy
• Ability to process large debris and operate trucks
• Willingness to perform other related tasks as assigned
• Experience with chemical treatments and safety protocols
• Ability to identify and report tree failure risks
