Job summary

SavATree LLC is seeking a Groundsperson in a climber-in-training apprenticeship, starting as Groundsperson and progressing through a 2-year FRCC program. The role involves outdoor work on a General Tree Care crew, with training in climbing techniques, pruning, pest and tree identification, and safety.

This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits and paid time off. Ideal candidates are eager to learn, possess a valid driver's license, and are authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Desire to work outdoors and contribute to outdoor tree care.
• Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Work with General Tree Care crew to provide high quality tree care.
• Assist in pruning, removals, cable bracing and related tasks.
• Safely operate equipment and adhere to safety standards.
• Attend monthly Front Range Community College classes Nov–Mar as part of the 2-year apprenticeship.

Our Climber-In-Training Apprentice Program is designed to give you the opportunity for an intensive and interactive training journey to join the climbing team at SavATree. You will start as a Groundsperson and then be enrolled in the 2 year apprenticeship program through the Front Range Community College. You will attend classes once a month from November-March. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

The General Tree Care Team are the muscle of our operation. These industrial athletes work together to provide high-quality tree care, helping to maintain and preserve the overall health of our clients’ landscapes.

In this role, team members have the opportunity to work outside and visit beautiful properties in their community. The Tree Care team applies expertise in climbing, pruning, and safety to ensure the health and well‑being of each client’s landscape.

In this role you will start as a Groundsperson and then be enrolled in the 2 year apprenticeship program through the Front Range Community College. You will attend classes once a month from November-March where you will trained in everything from climbing techniques, chainsaw safety, plant identification, pest identification, tree identification etc. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

What a day is like:

Daily focus is working together on a General Tree Care crew to provide high quality tree care to our clients. The Tree Care Team is involved in all aspects of pruning, removals, cable bracing and other concepts related to tree care. Team members are able to safely operate all equipment and perform the assigned job tasks while also providing excellent service to our clients.

What kind of person are we looking for?

Someone with:

• A desire to work outdoors
• A Valid U.S. Driver’s license to drive company vehicles

Someone who wants to learn:

• How to climb trees (without spurs!)
• Proper tree pruning techniques
• How to identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species’ characteristics
• Tree care safety standards
• Chainsaw and equipment operation

This position pays between $20-24/hr depending on experience + benefits + PTO +401K
