Job summary

SavATree in Denver, CO is hiring for a Groundsperson transitioning into a two-year Climber-In-Training Apprentice Program through Front Range Community College. This full-time role offers hands-on learning outdoors, with monthly class sessions November through March.

You'll start as Groundsperson, training in climbing techniques, chainsaw safety, plant and tree identification, and other essential tree-care skills.

Qualifications

• Groundsperson role with apprenticeship path through FRCC.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willing to train in climbing techniques and safety.
• Team-oriented and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general tree care including pruning and removals.
• Operate climbing gear and equipment under supervision.
• Attend monthly classes Nov–Mar for apprenticeship.
• Work outdoors at client properties across Denver area.
• Maintain safe work practices and equipment.

The Tree Care team applies expertise in climbing, pruning, and safety to ensure the health and well-being of each client's landscape.In this role you will start as a Groundsperson and then be enrolled in the 2 year apprenticeship program through the Front Range Community College. What a day is like

Daily focus is working together on a General Tree Care crew to provide high quality tree care to our clients. The Tree Care Team is involved in all aspects of pruning, removals, cable bracing and other concepts related to tree care. Team members are able to safely operate all equipment and perform the assigned job tasks while also providing excellent service to our clients.

What kind of person are we looking for?

• A desire to work outdoors
• A Valid U.S. Driver's license to drive company vehicles
• Someone who wants to learn: How to climb trees (without spurs!)
• Proper tree pruning techniques
• How to identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species' characteristics
• Tree care safety standards
• Chainsaw and equipment operation

This position pays between $20-24/hr depending on experience + benefits + PTO +401K
