Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Climber Arborist to join our team. This role involves performing tree maintenance, pruning, removals, and other arboricultural tasks while working at heights. The ideal candidate will have experience in tree climbing, rigging techniques, and the safe operation of tree care equipment. A strong understanding of tree health, safety regulations, and proper pruning techniques is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment to perform pruning, removals, and maintenance tasks.

• Safely operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, ropes, rigging systems, and other specialized tree care tools.

• Assess tree health and structural integrity, recommending proper care and maintenance solutions.

• Perform tree removals in a safe and controlled manner, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding property.

• Follow industry best practices, ANSI A300 pruning standards, and ANSI Z133 safety standards.

• Identify and mitigate potential hazards while working in trees and on the ground.

• Collaborate with ground crew members to ensure efficient and safe job site operations.

• Assist with emergency storm response and tree damage mitigation.

• Maintain equipment, tools, and climbing gear in good working condition.

• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure job expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Tree Climber, Arborist, or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in climbing, rigging, and pruning techniques.

• Knowledge of tree biology, disease identification, and proper care methods.

• Ability to operate chainsaws, wood chippers, stump grinders, and aerial lifts.

• Familiarity with industry safety standards and best practices.

• Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Compensation for this position is $25.00 -$30.00 hourly, depending on experience.
