Job summary

Stanford University’s Land, Buildings & Real Estate (LBRE) seeks a Tree Specialist to maintain campus trees. You will follow instructions, prune and remove parts of trees, and operate safety equipment to keep the landscape healthy and safe for the Stanford community.

Requires a HS diploma or GED and 1 year arboriculture/grounds experience, plus basic tree ID knowledge, communication skills, and ability to use common work tools. On-site at 560 Fremont Road, Stanford CA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and 1 year of arboriculture or grounds experience.
• Knowledge of tree growth and grounds equipment is required.
• Basic tree identification knowledge and English instruction comprehension.
• Basic computer skills for work orders and time entry.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools as directed.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and care of trees under supervision.
• Follow detailed instructions and safety procedures for higher-level work.
• Remove parts of trees or assist in tree removal.
• Prune trees to maintain appearance and health.
• Set up and use high-work safety equipment and follow PPE rules.
