Joshua Tree, Salt Lake's premier tree care, lawn care, and pest control professionals, is searching for an experienced Tree Care Groundsman!

Tree Care Specialists work alongside a 2 to 4-person tree crew assisting in tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, and wood chipper operations. The Specialist is responsible for communication with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.

Responsibilities

What a Tree Care Specialist does:

• Assist crew with equipment and vehicle preparation daily
• Ensure that drop zones are safe for coworkers and the public
• Perform pruning and reduction tasks
• Safely operate tree care equipment including gas-powered saws, pole saws, and chippers
• Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush, and debris
• Report to work on time each day
• Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers
• Maintain a professional image
• Provide friendly and excellent customer service
• Maintain and service equipment as needed
• Follow safety procedures and culture
• Set up safety and traffic control measures at job sites

Qualifications

What you need to be a Tree Care Specialist:

• Minimum of two years of experience in Tree Care Operations
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work 40+ hours per week
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
• Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions
• Effective communication skills
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred
