Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a Tree Care Climber in Spring, TX. The role supports the Foreman, assists the crew with pruning and tree care, operates equipment such as chainsaws and chippers, and helps teammates while learning on the job.

Expect to learn tree planting and pruning techniques, work outdoors, and potentially travel up to 50% as needed. High school diploma or equivalent required, with safety-focused mindset and willingness to develop skills.

Qualifications

• Follow specific safety instructions and protocols.
• Applicable knowledge on climbing harnesses, tree gaffs, chippers, chainsaws, and rigging techniques
• Comfortable climbing to heights of up to 60 ft
• Proper felling techniques
• Follow safety guidelines and OSHA standards.
• Follow ANSI Z133 and ANSI A300 standards.

The Tree Care Climber is responsible for assisting the Foreman by helping lead the crew, climbing and trimming trees, operating equipment such as chainsaws and chippers and helping other crew members with tasks and continually learning new things. Physical requirements/Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to verbally exchange information with colleagues, managers, and vendors. The position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently reach for, pull, lift, and/or move items weighing up to and over 50 lbs. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind. The position is expected to be full‑time and may be scheduled on weekdays and weekends.
