Job summary

Moon Valley Nurseries is seeking a Tree Care Climber to assist the Foreman, climb and trim trees, and operate equipment like chainsaws and chippers. You will help other crew members and continually learn new skills to advance your career.

The role supports our clients with safe, efficient tree care in outdoor settings. Applicants should be able to climb to heights up to 60 ft, follow safety protocols, and work full-time outdoors in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Follow instructions and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of climbing harnesses, tree gaffs, chippers, chainsaws, and rigging techniques.
• Climb to heights up to 60 ft.
• Practice proper felling techniques.
• Follow ANSI Z133 and ANSI A300 standards.

Responsibilities

• Prune and remove trees and shrubs.
• Use small tools such as shovels, rakes, chainsaws, and other applicable equipment.
• Assist Foreman and crew with tasks and client needs.
• Clean and organize work areas for client sites.
• Learn and grow to improve performance.

Job SummaryThe Tree Care Climber is responsible for assisting the Foreman by helping lead the crew, climbing and trimming trees, operating equipment such as chainsaws and chippers and helping other crew members with tasks and continually learning new things. The position is active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee must frequently reach for, pull, lift, and/or move items weighing up to and over 50 lbs. The employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
