BluePearl Pet Hospital in Christiana, DE is seeking a Treatment Veterinary Technician to monitor hospitalized patients, assess pain and behavior, and support emergency care. You will perform phlebotomy, IV placement, radiography, critical nursing tasks, CPR when needed, and mentor teammates in a fast-paced, compassionate hospital environment.

Qualificações

• Monitoring overnight stable patients and assessing behavior and pain scores.
• Ability to obtain and interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Proficient in phlebotomy and placing IV catheters.
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and positioning.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications accurately.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

As An Treatment Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Monitoring stable patients overnight, assessing behavioral changes and pain score.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
