Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

The Treatment Specialist serves as the primary school-based coordinator for student wellness and social-emotional support within their assigned school. This individual will work collaboratively with students, families, school administrators, teachers, counselors, nurses, and Alliance healthcare providers to connect students with medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and community resources.

The Treatment Specialist will coordinate referrals, facilitate workshops and classroom presentations, support care coordination, assist with student enrollment into school-based health services, and help create a safe, supportive, and healthy school environment.

Salary: $ 23.61 per hour

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
  • Enroll families in Get Covered NJ, complete PE applications
  • On clinical days coordinate staff and student schedules
  • Book appointments in eClinicalWorks and update all information.
  • Verify insurance prior to appointments
  • Follow up on missed appointments or complicated cases with parents.
  • Track presentations, referrals, and follow-up activities.
  • Complete required reports within established timelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.
  • Crisis Response
  • Immediately report concerns regarding abuse, neglect, suicidal ideation, or threats of violence according to organizational policies.
  • Assist licensed behavioral health professionals during crisis interventions.
  • Support assigned clinical site operations by assisting with patient intake, appointment scheduling, registration, consent collection, insurance verification, and follow-up coordination.
  • Collaborate with front desk, clinical, behavioral health, dental, vision, and outreach staff to ensure students and families are connected to appropriate services and receive timely follow-up care.
  • Assist with maintaining updated patient information in eClinicalWorks, documenting outreach efforts, tracking referrals, and communicating appointment reminders or follow-up needs to parents and guardians.
  • Support clinic workflow by helping prepare service areas, organizing educational materials and forms, monitoring pending documentation, and escalating urgent or complex concerns to the appropriate supervisor or licensed provider.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, Family Science, Public Health, Education, Sociology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children, adolescents, schools, healthcare, behavioral health, or community programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a school-based setting or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Arabic) strongly preferred.
  • Experience facilitating youth groups or classroom presentations.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, HIPAA, FERPA, and mandated reporting requirements.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
