Job summary

Management & Training Corporation supports the East Texas Treatment Facility in Henderson, Texas, delivering didactic education within DWI, ISF and SAFPF programs. You will coordinate activities and work with the cognitive intervention team to optimize resource use in line with MTC and TDCJ directives.

We provide training to help you become a certified counselor; join a dedicated team and contribute to rehabilitation outcomes while adhering to program policies and documentation requirements.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required/associate degree preferred.
  • Associate degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice or education preferred.
  • LCDC-I certification or CCJP-A exposure preferred.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required unless waived.

Responsibilities

  • Provides didactic sessions per curricula and teaches life skills classes.
  • Guides clients to comply with facility rules and schedules.
  • Monitors client behavior and reports incidents to treatment staff.
  • Maintains client records and workload statistics; submits reports as needed.
  • Adheres to licensing and certification standards per state regulations.

Rate of pay

Starting at $16.00/hr.; Promote within 6 months to $19.00/hr. (once certified)

Work schedule

Full-time; 8-hour days Monday-Friday - Treatment Specialist Hours: West Side for SAFPF Males and Females are 6:30am-3:30pm. East Side for DWI and ISF Males is 8:00am-5:00pm.

Position summary

You'll be responsible for performing didactic education work within DWI, ISF and/or SAFPF Programs. Work involves assisting with the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities; and coordinating with cognitive intervention coordinator and other departments to ensure the maximum utilization for resources available chemical dependency treatment and rehabilitation in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provides didactic sessions according to designated curricula within the programs as needed. Presents educational and Life Skill classes to assist clients with basic education on these topics.
  • Guides and assists clients in complying with facility rules and regulations. Supervises client work functions in accordance with program policies such as morning wake up routines according to established schedules.
  • Monitors client behavior and reports incidents, inappropriate or unusual behaviors to appropriate treatment team staff. Notifies appropriate personnel of clients failing to comply with policies and procedures.
  • Maintains client and other records regarding services provided to include workload statistics; compiles data and submits reports and related documentation as appropriate.
  • Adheres to the core functions within practicum guidelines in the Texas Administrative Code 140 of Texas Health and Human Services Commission LCDC-I licensure and Texas Certification Board for the CCJP-A certification.
  • Adheres to the Ethical Standards of Care for HHSC and TCB.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school, GED, or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in the field of psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice or education is preferred
  • Related experience is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post-hire Requirements
  • Within 180 days of employment, must have a letter of registration as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-I or CI) from the Texas Department of State Health Services or current certification as a Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Applicant (CCJP-A) as approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals.
