Job description

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC), is seeking a Treatment Program Manager/Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (TPM/QIDP) to join our team! This full-time position is ideal for individuals driven by a desire to make a positive impact in their community and offers opportunities for advancement, growth, and development.

What You'll Do

As a TPM/QIDP, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional care and support. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leadership: Lead and direct an integrated, interdisciplinary team process to provide adequate, appropriate, and timely assessments, interventions, strategies, and supports that effectively address an individual’s needs, assisting that individual to live in the most integrated setting.
  2. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor implementation of services, supports, and interventions through direct observation, participation, and review of documentation. Report analysis of trends and corrective actions needed/due and assure implementation of proactive and prevention interventions.
  3. Supervision: Supervise and evaluate the work of staff. Administer personnel and related policies and procedures. Oversee Resident Treatment Supervisors, training them in supervision of active treatment programs by assigning caseloads, advising on methods, reviewing records, and providing feedback.
  4. Team Collaboration: Maintain close contact with staff to define, measure, and improve the quality of services, implement quality initiatives, and assess outcomes and efficiency of efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant human care or behavioral field, or licensure as a doctor of medicine, osteopathy, or registered nurse, with one year of full-time experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Additional requirements include:

  • Licensure as applicable under Iowa law (e.g., occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech pathology, audiology, medicine, nursing).
  • Acceptable degrees include occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech pathology, audiology, sociology, education, rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, and others related to human care.
  • Applicants assessed for federal employment requirements at the time of interview if referred to Glenwood and Woodward State Hospital-Schools.
  • Designated positions may require obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License and endorsements within a specified period.
