The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Treatment Plant Operator I - Wastewater to improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Utilities department. Are you service-oriented? Could you excel in a fast-paced environments? If so, you may be perfect for this position!

The Treatment Plant Operator I-Wastewater earns a competitive salary of $20.58 - $22.27/hourly based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR I - WASTEWATER

Essential Functions

• Samples and monitors and performs testing required to maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and storm water and sludge management.
• Performs all work in conformance to Occupational Safety and Health Act Regulations.
• Collects wastewater plant samples and runs onsite lab testing per TCEQ regulations.
• Walks the plant to collect data from hour meters, physically check pumps for proper operation, start centrifuge for sludge processing, and look/find issues and address them.
• Performs maintenance on wastewater plant equipment and performs basin maintenance.
