Job summary

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking full-time Treatment Counselors for our Crisis/IRTS team in Minnesota. The role includes examining clients, implementing crisis intervention and de-escalation, and developing treatment plans with a person-centered approach.

Positions offer a rotating evening schedule with shift differentials and travel between Minneapolis locations as needed, plus a robust benefits package and potential loan-forgiveness eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 30 semester/45 quarter hours with practicum/internship focused on behavioral sciences
• 2,000 hours supervised experience in delivering mental health services
• Fluency in non-English language of clients may apply
• Graduate-level enrollment with clinical assignment may be eligible

Responsibilities

• Engage clients using person-centered approaches to support recovery goals
• Model crisis intervention and de-escalation while prioritizing safety
• Conduct assessments, treatment plans, plan-of-care reviews, and discharge plans
• Provide skill-building, teaching, or coaching related to individual goals
• Assist with client intake, orientation, and admission paperwork as needed
• Administer medications in accordance with policy when applicable

For over 50 years, we have been a leading community partner, transforming the health of our communities through innovative solutions.Main Job Duties:May be required to work full or partial shifts at other programs to assist with urgent staffing needs, which may require travel between locations.Using and modeling person-centered principles, actively engage clients in their mental health recovery, and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.Demonstrate an intermediate level of clinical knowledge and modeling as it relates to the individual’s goals, treatment plan, and diagnosis.Provide and model crisis intervention and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or other emotional and/or behavioral responses while prioritizing client and program safety.Conduct assessments and treatment plans, plan-of-care reviews, and discharge plans as needed or directed.
