Job summary

The Bland County Treasurer's Office is seeking a detail-oriented front-line clerk to handle customer service, cashiering, and tax account maintenance. You will assist taxpayers with taxes and County charges, explain bills and due dates, and ensure accurate records.

Responsibilities include processing various payments, reconciling daily transactions, and supporting office operations while safeguarding confidential financial information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in cashiering, banking, customer service, accounting, tax collection, financial services, or general office administration preferred.
• Experience handling cash or financial transactions highly desirable.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and professional service to taxpayers at the counter, by phone, and electronically.
• Explain tax bills, account balances, due dates, penalties, interest, payment options, and office procedures.
• Receive and process payments including cash, checks, money orders, credit/debit cards, and electronic payments.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records and balance cash drawers daily.
