Job summary

Rocket, a Detroit-based fintech company, is seeking a Treasury Operations Intern to support daily wire operations that move funds to closings and to gain exposure to warehouse lines used to fund those closings.

You will work with large data sets in Excel, build fluency in Excel, and help drive process improvements while learning how treasury connects with capital markets, intercompany settlements, and month-end close activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite at Rocket’s Detroit offices.

Responsibilities

• Work with large, detailed data sets in Excel to support daily cash positioning, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash position and cash forecasting.
• Reconcile cash-related accounts and journal entries to meet month-end close deadlines.
• Monitor warehouse lines used to fund closings and learn how treasury connects with capital markets.
• Assist with intercompany settlements and transactions.
• Support internal and external audits by providing information and monitoring cash management activity for compliance.
• Maintain and validate settlement instructions.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on bank fees.
• Partner with other Finance teams on quarter-end close and ad-hoc requests.
• Contribute to process-improvement projects with fresh ideas.
