Job summary

Unum is seeking a Treasury analyst to facilitate daily treasury operations, provide accurate cash reporting, and support risk management activities. You will work cross-functionally with external banking partners, Finance, and other Unum teams to ground business decisions.

The role includes monthly and quarterly financial cycles, preparing reconciliations and complex analyses, and maintaining data assets to support operations and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience well prepares for the specific work to be performed.
• Zero to three years of comparable experience, preferably corporate treasury, or banking experience
• CTP designation preferred
• Basic understanding of the components of multiple financial statements and how they interact with one another
• Ability to respond quickly and positively to change
• Developing customer service/teamwork skills within job area
• Highly motivated individual able to take direction from managers and developing skills to solve problems with little guidance from managers
• Ability to prioritize work while working on multiple projects, keeping track of and meeting due dates
• Strong communication skills related to the job
• Basic to intermediate EXCEL skills
• General ledger systems and reporting tools experience preferred
• Proficient in Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with Workday (General Ledger software) and Blackline (reconciliation software) preferred
• Customer service skills in working with functional area team and other resources to complete assigned work

Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily treasury operations
• Provide accurate cash reporting
• Assist with risk management activities and other Treasury functions
• Work cross-functionally with external banking partners, Finance, and other Unum partners
• Provide financial analysis to inform and ground business decisions
• Participate in monthly and quarterly financial cycles
• Prepare, verify, reconcile, and balance accounts related to the financial area
• Identify discrepancies, causes, and recommendations for corrective action
• Prepare complex financial analysis and routine reports for the manager
• Make recommendations regarding complex analytics processes and results
• Maintain systems and data assets supporting accounting, planning, and administrative functions
• Own data in systems or assets related to assigned analysis
• Maintain specialized working knowledge of Unum products, services, business processes, and assigned business area
• Provide information for external and internal audits
• Monitor Treasury activities for compliance
• Participate in developing, implementing, and adhering to financial procedures that improve operations, controls, efficiency, and effectiveness
