Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Treasury Manager to scale treasury operations with process design, automation, and technology-enabled execution. You will own cash positioning, payments, bank account management, forecasting support, and controls, while building AI-driven workflows and scalable reporting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in treasury, finance operations, or related operational transformation.
• Strong experience in cash management, payments, bank administration, reconciliations, and controls.
• Proven ability to build or improve operational workflows in high-growth or complex environments.
• Experience using AI, workflow tools, data tools, treasury systems, ERP, or banking platforms.
• Strong process-design instincts: map current workflows, define requirements, and implement practical improvements.
• Good judgment on payment controls, bank access, auditability, and segregation of duties.

Responsibilities

• Own core treasury operations across cash positioning, payments, bank account management, forecasting support, close, and FBAR preparation.
• Build scalable workflows and automation for request intake, approvals, payment tracking, bank account changes, KYC follow-up, access reviews, evidence collection, and issue resolution.
• Translate recurring treasury processes into clear tool and dashboard requirements for AI workflows and system improvements.
• Identify pain points, data-quality issues, and key-person risk; design improvements to address them.
• Partner with Treasury, Accounting, Tax, FP&A, AP, Payroll, Legal, Engineering, and banking teams to improve handoffs and visibility.
• Use AI, workflow tools, treasury systems, ERP, and data tools to improve monitoring, reconciliation, reporting, and exception detection.
• Maintain human accountability for payment approvals, cash movement, and control evidence.
• Build SOPs, controls, KPI dashboards, trackers, and audit-ready documentation.
• Support new entity launches, M&A integration, banking changes, and business launches with repeatable playbooks.

About the Team

The Treasury team is responsible for protecting liquidity, enabling scale, maintaining strong controls, and helping the company operate with clarity and resilience. We work across finance and operational partners to ensure funds move safely, visibility remains high, and Treasury infrastructure keeps pace with a fast-moving business. As hands-on operators and builders, we combine financial judgment with AI, automation, and data to solve problems faster, strengthen controls, and continuously improve how Treasury operates.

About the Role

We're looking for a Treasury Manager to help build the systems, workflows, and controls that allow Treasury to scale. This role combines hands-on treasury operations ownership with process design, automation, and technology-enabled execution across cash visibility, payments, bank account management, forecasting support, controls, reporting, and operational readiness. The role will identify manual pain points, define process requirements, improve data quality and cross-functional handoffs, build AI-native workflows, and create repeatable operating rhythms that reduce key-person dependency while preserving strong human oversight. This is not a pure execution role. While the role will support daily treasury operations, its core mandate is to improve how the work gets done: better workflows, cleaner source data, stronger controls, faster exception detection, more scalable reporting, and more effective use of technology to support Treasury as a whole.

In this role, you will:

• Own core treasury operations across cash positioning, payments, bank account management, portal administration, forecasting support, close, and FBAR preparation.
• Build scalable workflows and automation for request intake, approvals, payment tracking, bank account changes, KYC follow-up, access reviews, evidence collection, and issue resolution.
• Translate recurring treasury processes into clear requirements for tools, dashboards, trackers, AI workflows, and system improvements.
• Identify manual pain points, duplicate work, control gaps, data-quality issues, and key-person risk, then design process or technology improvements to address them.
• Partner with Treasury, Accounting, Tax, FP&A, AP, Payroll, Legal, Engineering, and banking partners to improve handoffs, source data, reporting, and operational visibility.
• Use AI, workflow tools, treasury systems, bank platforms, ERPs, and data tools to improve monitoring, reconciliation, reporting, exception detection, and management-ready summaries.
• Maintain strong human accountability for payment approvals, cash movement, bank access, settlement confirmation, control evidence, and exception resolution.
• Build and maintain SOPs, controls, KPI reporting, dashboards, trackers, and audit-ready documentation across treasury operations.
• Support new entity launches, M&A integration, banking architecture changes, and business launches by creating repeatable operating playbooks and scalable system workflows.
• Coordinate day-to-day execution for intercompany funding, settlement activity, investment operations, letters of credit, guarantees, treasury close, and related accounting handoffs.

• Experience using AI, workflow tools, data tools, treasury systems, ERPs, bank platforms, or automation to improve operational scale and control quality.
• Strong process-design instincts: you can map current-state workflows, identify failure points, define requirements, and build practical improvements.
• Sound judgment around payment controls, bank access, auditability, confidentiality, segregation of duties, and human approval boundaries.
• Comfort moving between hands-on execution and systems/process improvement.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to turn complex operational issues into clear procedures, decision records, and action plans.
