The Treasury Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day treasury and banking activities across a large, multi-entity organization. This individual will manage banking relationships, cash positioning, bank account administration, treasury operations, short-term investment opportunities, and related systems and controls.
The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of banking and cash management practices and will be able to identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance automation, reduce banking costs, and maximize returns on available cash. This is a hands-on role with significant interaction with the company’s banking partners and internal accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day treasury operations across a portfolio of more than 50 bank accounts supporting multiple corporate entities and business operations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the company’s banking partners and proactively manage those relationships.
- Negotiate banking fees, deposit rates, treasury services and other terms to ensure the company is receiving competitive pricing and service.
- Monitor daily cash balances and cash positioning across accounts and entities.
- Evaluate opportunities to optimize returns on excess cash through appropriate short-term investment and interest-bearing alternatives.
- Oversee daily wire transfers, ACH transactions, deposits and other cash movement activities.
- Manage bank account administration, including account openings and closings, authorized signers, user access, permissions and dual-control requirements.
- Maintain appropriate controls around banking access, cash movement and treasury activities.
- Lead and support banking transitions, account conversions and implementation of new treasury services.
- Identify opportunities to automate treasury processes and improve connectivity between banking platforms and the company’s financial systems.
- Partner with Accounting to improve automation of bank reconciliations, cash reporting and other currently manual processes.
- Oversee remote deposit capabilities and related banking infrastructure across the company’s properties.
- Analyze banking services, technology and treasury solutions and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Partner closely with Accounting, Finance, property teams and other internal stakeholders on treasury-related matters.
- Provide treasury reporting and analysis to senior management as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate treasury/treasury management, commercial banking, cash management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of banking products and treasury services, including ACH, wires, cash concentration, account structures, fraud prevention and electronic banking platforms.
- Experience managing multiple bank accounts and complex banking relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and negotiate banking services, fees and interest rates.
- Strong understanding of cash positioning and short-term investment alternatives.
- Experience with treasury technology, bank integrations and/or process automation strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of the treasury function.
- Strong communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to work effectively with banking partners and internal leadership.
Preferred Background
- Corporate treasury experience or experience within the treasury management/cash management group of a commercial bank.
- Experience implementing or improving treasury management systems, bank connectivity or automated reconciliation processes.
- Experience working with major commercial banking platforms and treasury products.
