Join to apply for the Treasury Management Sales Team Lead role at Burke & Herbert Bank.

We are building a Community Bank for the modern world and are looking for talented, passionate professionals to join our team. We’re seeking a dynamic and growth-driven Treasury Management Consultant and Sales Team Lead to help build and lead our commercial Treasury Management team and expand our business and commercial relationships.

This role will be responsible for developing and driving sales discipline and growth within our Treasury Management team and across the Bank. The individual will lead a team of Treasury Management Consultants and support the Northern Virginia region as a Treasury Management Consultant. Responsibilities include the acquisition and growth of Treasury Management sales, related revenue, and deposit growth of Treasury Management relationships.

Essential Functions

This role requires:

  • Deep experience in successfully leading a sales team of Treasury Management Consultants.
  • Success in growing Treasury Management and commercial relationships through sales leadership.
  • A focus on growth in Treasury Management revenue and deposits.
  • Leadership and success in meeting and exceeding goals and objectives.
  • Strong relationship management, business development, and sales skills.
  • Expert knowledge of deposit and Treasury Management products and services.
  • Solid knowledge of commercial credit and credit quality.
  • Broad knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Serve as a Treasury Management advisor within the Bank, developing education on TM products, pricing, and sales approaches.
  • Assist Relationship Management teams with TM relationship pricing, analysis, and proposals.
  • Coordinate with RM teams on pipelines and client meetings.
  • Prepare and present annual reviews and ongoing meetings to expand TM and deposit business.
  • Manage tasks and schedules to support TM clients and business units effectively.
  • Prepare sales proposals, analysis, and participate in product training.
  • Identify process improvements based on client needs.
  • Review and understand clients’ TM needs, conduct demonstrations as needed.
  • Stay updated on TM system functionalities, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
  • Understand and mitigate risks associated with TM products in collaboration with relevant departments.
Other Duties
  • Comply with all policies, including BSA/AML.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Proven leadership in developing and leading a Treasury Management team.
  • Track record of acquiring new TM business.
  • Ability to foster collaboration across departments.
  • Expertise in TM products, services, and systems.
  • Advanced interpersonal and account management skills.
  • Excellent strategic selling and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information for recommendations.
  • Understanding of value propositions related to treasury services.
  • Strong team-building skills.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Office setting using standard equipment. Conducted via phone, face-to-face, and computer.

Physical Demands

Manual dexterity, lifting files, bending, stooping, standing as needed.

Travel

Travel may be required.

Education and Experience
  • 7+ years of banking sales experience, preferably in TM sales and business development.
  • 3+ years of Treasury Management sales team leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong sales aptitude, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
