Job summary

UMB is seeking a Treasury Management and Card Sales Officer to grow our Treasury Management and Card Solutions through selling and maintaining client accounts, while advising on deposits, risk, and liquidity needs. You will develop relationships with commercial clients, optimize treasury flows, and mitigate financial and reputational risk.

In this role you will manage existing and new clients, drive revenue growth, and participate in local industry groups.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of banking experience with 2+ years in selling or supporting commercial or treasury services
  • Ability to prospect, network & influence at various levels within a company
  • Knowledge of Treasury Management products and services, corporate cash flow process
  • Knowledge of market/industry trends; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of credit and operational risk
  • Knowledge of Commercial Payments & Cards; TM & card-based applications

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of existing clients focusing on profitable, organic revenue growth and minimizing attrition
  • Manage new-to-bank clients with focus on revenue growth
  • Develop and maintain relationships to expand existing business
  • Understand client business and treasury needs; identify risks and communicate credit exposures
  • Conduct sales calls to generate new Treasury Management and deposit business to meet YoY growth goals
  • Engage in local industry associations, networking groups, and community associations
  • Identify working capital efficiency opportunities and refer ancillary business opportunities
  • Design customer-centric treasury management solutions and provide consultative liquidity management guidance
  • Identify internal and external prospects and develop relationships to expand business
  • Provide thought leadership through hosting events and industry conferences
  • Collaborate with internal marketing on sales collateral and campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

The Treasury Management and Card Sales Officer (TMCSO) is focused on growing UMB's Treasury Management and Card Solutions through the selling and maintenance of accounts, treasury management services, and Commercial Card solution sets. The TMCSO collaborates with internal partners to streamline communication and advisement on their clients' deposits, treasury management, risk, and other company payment needs.

You will work to identify ways to improve the client experience and enhance UMB's brand in the marketplace. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with commercial clients to understand their business, optimize Treasury flow, and minimize financial and reputational risk. Offering the Unparalleled Customer Experience UMB is known for, through client-centric solutions, the TMCSO will influence strategy to meet clients' needs while using sound judgment in assessing risk. While this position works independently, the Treasury Management Team fosters a spirit of teamwork and cooperation across all value streams.

How you'll spend your time:
  • You will manage a portfolio of existing clients with a focus on profitable, organic revenue growth and minimizing attrition
  • You will manage a portfolio of new-to-bank clients with a focus on revenue growth
  • You will develop and maintain relationships with clients to maintain and expand existing business
  • You will know and understand the business's organization, expected activity, identify and communicate operational credit exposures, and other risks
  • You will understand treasury management product risk and ensure UMB's credit policies and other risks (e.g., reputational, legal) are adhered to and mitigated
  • You will establish appropriate expectations for onboarding, including execution of documentation, and ensure ramp of sold services
  • You will conduct independent and codependent sales calls on companies to generate new, high-quality, and profitable Treasury Management and deposit business to achieve or exceed specific YoY growth goals
  • You will take a role in the market by actively engaging in local industry associations, networking groups, and /or community associations
  • You will identify working capital efficiency opportunities for a business and deepen the relationship accordingly; ensure business awareness of market and industry trends, identify dissatisfiers, and escalat...
  • You will identify and refer ancillary business opportunities to appropriate partners
  • You will design customer-centric treasury management solutions and provide consultative expertise on the liquidity management cycle
  • You will identify both internal and external prospects. Develop and maintain relationships with prospects to profitably expand the business
  • You will provide thought leadership within and outside the market through, but not limited to, hosting corporate events, attending and speaking at industry conferences, etc.
  • You will engage with internal marketing in the design of sales collateral and company-sponsored marketing

Compensation Range:

$98,208 - $144,705
