Heritage Insurance in Tampa, FL is seeking a Staff Accountant – Treasury to support daily treasury and accounting operations, ensuring accurate records and strong controls. You will work on reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close under the Treasury Manager, contributing to reliable financial reporting and compliance in a collaborative team environment.

The role offers growth in treasury operations, bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and interaction with audit teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; internships ok.
• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, and PivotTables.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate financial records.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to ask questions and follow through.

Responsabilités

• Support daily treasury and accounting operations, ensuring records are accurate and well-documented.
• Assist with bank reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, audit support, and month-end close.
• Prepare bank and cash reconciliations per procedures and deadlines.
• Research and resolve unreconciled items and discrepancies; follow up as needed.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Record treasury and accounting transactions accurately and timely.
• Prepare recurring and standard journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end closings to support financial reporting.
• Gather documentation for internal and external audit requests.
• Follow internal controls and assist with ICFR and SOX compliance.
• Review account activity, identify unusual items, and escalate issues when appropriate.
• Use Excel functions (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS) to organize and analyze data.
• Maintain organized accounting records and reconciliation documentation.
• Collaborate with treasury, accounting, and other departments to resolve questions.
