Job summary

Perplexity is seeking a foundational treasury lead to own day-to-day cash management, banking relationships, and liquidity strategy. You will bridge Accounting and Strategic Finance with exposure to leadership, building the function from the ground up.

You will design processes, implement an in-house investment/hedging program, and automate repetitive tasks while upholding strict controls and compliance across entities.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years in corporate treasury or related finance roles (cash, banking, audit, or strategic finance).
• Experience building and managing an in-house investment program and hedging.
• Knowledge of cash forecasting, bank operations, payment rails, and short-duration fixed income.
• Strong controls mindset with high attention to detail.
• Clear written communication and ability to build processes from scratch.
• Nice to have: FX hedging, treasury systems, debt facilities, IPO readiness, or CFA/CPA progress.

Responsibilities

• Own daily cash positioning across operating accounts and entities with rolling cash forecasts.
• Manage bank accounts across entities, including openings/closures, signer updates, KYC, and portal access reviews.
• Oversee payment controls, including approval workflows and separation of duties.
• Manage investment portfolio (money market funds, bank deposits, managed accounts) in line with policy; oversee external managers.
• Design and build an in-house investment and hedging program (direct fixed income, pricing hedges, yield rates).
• Develop management reporting on portfolio performance, market conditions, and policy compliance for leadership and board.
• Monitor FX exposure from international entities/vendors; support hedging analysis and execution.
• Automate treasury tasks (cash positioning, reconciliations, reporting) using AI/workflow tools while maintaining approvals.
• Prepare FBAR filings, manage letters of credit and bank guarantees, and support audit requests.
