Markel Corporation is seeking a Treasury Analyst in Richmond, VA to deliver cash management reporting and forecasting, leveraging Power BI and related treasury tools. You will work with banks and portfolio managers to ensure accurate settlements and data integrity across accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent business discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cash management reports using Power BI with balance, inflows/outflows and investment activity.
• Develop cash flow forecasts to support investment management allocations.
• Maintain bank connectivity and data integrity across accounts; liaise on SWIFT capabilities.
• Identify opportunities for fee reductions and drive expense-management improvements.
• Acquire knowledge of treasury technologies to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Collaborate with claims, accounting, tax, HR, and disbursements to resolve issues.
• Support KPI development and monitor performance toward departmental goals.
• Assist with settlement of fixed-income, equity, and short-term investments; investigate discrepancies.
• Support debt-related activities, including interest schedules and payment dates.
