Job summary

Valvoline Global Operations in Lexington, KY, seeks a Treasury Analyst I to join the Finance Treasury Cash Control team. You will support daily cash positioning, liquidity monitoring, and banking activities across a multi-entity environment.

Working under treasury leadership, you will perform cash reconciliations, assist with forecasting, and help process transfers and trade-finance documentation. This role requires accuracy, collaboration across time zones, and adherence to SOX controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant treasury, corporate finance, banking operations, accounting, or related experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of cash management, banking, liquidity, and treasury operations.
  • Experience with financial transactions, reconciliations, cash reporting, or similar finance processes.
  • Exposure to trade finance instruments such as letters of credit, bank guarantees, or standby letters of credit preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with financial data.

This position will be based at our Lexington, Kentucky location. To create greater consistency across locations and opportunities for teams to collaborate in person, beginning in the first half of 2027, the new global standard will be four days per week in the office. In most locations, this will be Monday through Thursday, with Friday remaining optional in the office.

TheTreasury Analyst I supports the day-to-day treasury operations of Valvoline Global Operations (VGO), with a focus on cash management, liquidity monitoring, banking activities, trade finance administration, and treasury reporting. The role helps maintain accurate visibility of cash positions and supports the timely and controlled execution of treasury activities across VGO’s global, multi-entity environment.

Working under the guidance of treasury leadership and more senior treasury team members, the Treasury Analyst II performs recurring treasury processes, prepares and validates financial information, coordinates with internal finance teams and banking partners, and helps resolve routine operational issues. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical capability, and adherence to established treasury policies, controls, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Cash Management & Liquidity Support
    • Support daily cash positioning by gathering and validating bank balances and cash activity across multiple entities, regions, and currencies.
    • Monitor daily cash movements and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions for investigation and escalation.
    • Assist with short-term cash flow forecasting by collecting, consolidating, and reviewing inputs from finance teams.
    • Support intercompany funding and cash concentration activities in accordance with established procedures and approvals.
    • Prepare recurring cash position, liquidity, and cash flow reports for review by treasury leadership.
    • Perform reconciliations and follow up on outstanding or unreconciled cash items.
    • Maintain accurate treasury data used to support liquidity planning and operational decision-making.
  • Treasury Operations
    • Process approved bank transfers, funding movements, and other routine treasury transactions in accordance with established policies and controls.
    • Support the administration of banking platforms, including maintaining payment templates, account information, and user access documentation.
    • Daily monitoring of in-house check printing and coordinating with relevant stakeholders both internal and external for check dispatch along with AR check received at HQ to be send to trade and non-trade lockbox.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and banking partners to resolve routine payment, banking, and transaction-related issues.
    • Maintain banking records and supporting documentation to ensure information is complete, accurate, and readily available.
    • Assist with bank fee analysis, investment reporting, and other recurring treasury operational activities.
    • Escalate transaction exceptions, control issues, and unusual activity to senior treasury team members as appropriate.
  • Trade Finance Administration
    • Support the administration and tracking of trade finance instruments, including letters of credit, bank guarantees, and standby letters of credit.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for outstanding trade finance instruments.
    • Assist with documentation required for issuances, amendments, renewals, and cancellations.
    • Track expiration dates and other key milestones and communicate upcoming actions to appropriate stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with subsidiaries, distributors, internal stakeholders, and banking partners to support timely processing of trade finance requests.
    • Review documentation for completeness and elevate exceptions or discrepancies for resolution.
  • Compliance, Controls & Governance
    • Perform treasury activities in accordance with VGO policies, established approval requirements, SOX controls, and governance standards.
    • Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for treasury transactions and activities.
    • Assist with internal and external audit requests by compiling supporting documentation and transaction information.
    • Perform assigned treasury control activities accurately and within established timelines.
    • Identify potential control or process issues and elevate them to treasury leadership.
    • Support updates to treasury procedures, process documentation, and control records.
  • Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement
    • Utilize treasury management systems, online banking platforms, and financial reporting tools to execute assigned activities.
    • Prepare recurring treasury reports covering cash positions, liquidity, bank fees, trade finance, and other operational metrics.
    • Review treasury data for accuracy and investigate routine reporting discrepancies.
    • Maintain treasury data and system information in accordance with established procedures.
    • Support testing and implementation of treasury system enhancements and process changes.
    • Identify opportunities to simplify recurring activities, improve data accuracy, and increase process efficiency.
    • Assist with automation and standardization initiatives under the direction of more senior treasury team members.
  • Stakeholder & Operational Support
    • Respond to routine treasury inquiries from finance teams and other internal stakeholders.
    • Coordinate across global teams to gather information and facilitate completion of treasury activities.
    • Develop effective working relationships with internal finance partners and external banking contacts.
    • Communicate transaction status, outstanding items, and operational issues clearly and in a timely manner.
    • Escalate complex or higher-risk matters to senior treasury team members for guidance and resolution.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field 2–4 years of relevant experience in treasury, corporate finance, banking operations, accounting, or a related financial role.
  • Foundational knowledge of cash management, banking, liquidity, and treasury operations.
  • Experience working with financial transactions, reconciliations, cash reporting, or similar finance processes.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in Treasury, Corporate Finance, Banking Operations, Accounting, or a related financial role.
