Job summary

Avow Hospice's Treasures Store in Naples is hiring a Store Associate to receive donations, process merchandise, and price items to meet quality standards. You will operate the POS system, handle daily cash, and help maintain attractive store merchandise while providing friendly donor and customer service.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred), strong math skills, and reliable transportation with a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Language: English fluency in reading, writing and speaking.
  • Math: basic arithmetic including percentages and discounts.
  • Transportation: valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Previous Retail/Thrift Store experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with donors and process in-kind donation receipts.
  • Sort, clean, price and prep items for sale.
  • Operate POS system and reconcile daily cash counts.
  • Assist in merchandising items.
  • Handle incoming calls and schedule donation pickups.

Job Summary

The Treasures Store Associate will be responsible for receiving donations and processing merchandise through the intake area. Ensure all sellable goods meet Treasures quality standards. Sort, clean and price items while maintaining consistent and competitive pricing standards. Cross train in other areas to ensure shift coverage if necessary. All Staff must be able to work assigned shifts between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday through Saturday.

Essential Job Functions
  • Effectively communicate with donors who drop off donations and process in-kind donation receipts.
  • Efficiently sort, clean, price and prep items for sale under guidelines provided.
  • Operate the point of sale (POS) system, and perform daily cash counting to reconcile the previous days business.
  • Assist in merchandising items throughout the store under the guidance and training from management.
  • Answer incoming calls within three (3) rings and refer calls to a manager as needed for scheduling donation pickups.
  • Create a friendly environment and respond courteously to all customers.
  • Respond to critical incidents such as fire, robbery, shoplifting, personnel or volunteer injury reports, and natural disasters according to company policy.
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Computer Skills

Computer skills to include general knowledge of e-mail/Outlook as a means of communication with store Management.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Language Skills: Communication skills of reading, writing and speaking in English.

Math Skills: Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages/fractions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current, valid driver's license. Valid auto insurance.

Other Qualifications

Previous Retail/Thrift Store experience is preferred, however anyone with a knowledge of interior decorating price points would be a good candidate. Knowledge of brand names and current trends. Ability to recognize and separate collectible, vintage and antique items.
