RESPONSIBLE TO: Supervising Pharmacist or Pharmacist
FUNCTION: To be responsible for patient prescriptions for the pharmacy and/or orthocare, including billing procedures and monetary transactions. To handle patient contact via telephone and in person. To provide general organization of the pharmacy/orthocare department in a professional and confidential manner.
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, flexibility, neatness and organizational skills; working knowledge of pharmacy and orthocare procedures and medical terminology; must possess working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and other third party insurance protocols and procedures; must be self-directed and motivated to complete daily assigned tasks; ability to work under pressure to meet demands of professional staff and/or patient; good time management skills; physical ability to stand for long periods of time; proficient computer skills; understanding of patient confidentiality. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the job.
Associates degree; OR a High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years experience working in a medical, pharmacy, DME or related setting. Valid drivers license or equivalent accommodations required.
