Lumicity is seeking a Travelling Project Manager for a data center program based in the Shreveport, LA region. The role includes a mandatory DC training period, followed by a bi-weekly travel rotation to the Shreveport site and ongoing project duties for ~12 months, with potential for extension or conversion to a long-term opportunity.
Candidates should have 2–3 years of PM/MEP management experience in data center construction and be open to relocation for training.
My client in the Washington, D.C./Northern Virginia region is urgently hiring for a Travelling Project Manager for one of their data center projects in the Shreveport, Louisiana region. This project has earned critical status, requiring them to bring on additional PMs as soon as possible to facilitate it once it begins.
Candidates are required to have at least 2-3 years of experience as an established PM or MEP Manager with prior exposure to data center construction projects.
A full-time training period in D.C. will be required for candidates once hired. This would last around a month and would lead directly into the transition down to Shreveport to begin work on the data center, which is scheduled to last around 12 months. Travelling rotation will be every 2 weeks, but that could be subject to extension (potentially 3-4 weeks) depending on any potential delays, deadlines, etc.
My client is open to seeing candidates who are already based in the D.C./NoVA region or would be willing to temporarily relocate there for the aforementioned training period. Once the project starts and candidates have transitioned down to Shreveport, they will be put on the travelling rotation and become able to return home on the standard cycle. That being said, all candidates must also be open to this travelling structure in order to be considered.
Travelling roles aren't quite as common with this client, so they are sure to reward those willing to travel with a higher base salary relative to their non-travelling employees, as well as a very generous travel allowance to make sure all flights, lodging, and expenses while away on the job are fully taken care of. Once the project were to finish, this role could turn into a long-term opportunity as well. Client has a very strong backlog of projects with several repeat clients, so their pipeline as very promising at the moment and looking to become even stronger as they expand into more markets.
