A renewable energy recruiting firm is seeking Traveling Wind Technicians to perform troubleshooting, assembly, and repairs on wind turbines. This full-time position requires 100% travel and candidates must reside in Texas or Oklahoma. Ideal applicants will have two years of hands-on experience and GWO certification. The role involves working in various conditions and requires the ability to handle heavy equipment and climb high altitudes.

Job description

WTR Search - Renewables is searching for Traveling Wind Technicians to perform tasks such as troubleshooting, assembly, and service/repairs to wind turbine generators and related equipment and facilities. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with 100% travel. Candidates must reside in Texas or Oklahoma.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support special projects with tasks including, but not limited to: maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, design modifications/retrofits, gen alignments, and blade repair.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions to perform assembly, repair, and maintenance on wind turbines and associated equipment.
  • Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records.
  • Operate a vehicle safely and legally per company policies.
  • Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work area including sweeping, mopping, and wiping oil, grease, and solvent spills.
  • Experience with a suspended platform is a plus.
  • Flexibility to perform tasks as needed depending on the scope of the project.
  • Complete service reporting, work order documents, and records neatly, legibly, and correctly.
  • Ability to read schematics.
Core Requirements

  • GWO certification required
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese highly preferred
  • Requires a high school diploma or GED, wind school certificate a plus
  • Must reside in Texas or Oklahoma
  • Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights of 300 feet
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and adverse and extreme weather conditions
  • Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
