Job description

WTR Search - Renewables is searching for Traveling Wind Technicians certified on GE platforms to perform tasks such as troubleshooting, assembly, and service/repairs to wind turbine generators and related equipment and facilities. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with 100% travel.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, design modifications/retrofits, and special projects, while following procedures and maintaining certifications in all areas required.
  2. Conduct LOTO on GE turbines.
  3. Troubleshooting on GE turbines.
  4. Follow verbal and written instructions to perform assembly, repair, and maintenance on wind turbines and associated equipment.
  5. Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records.
  6. Operate a vehicle safely and legally per company policies.
  7. Clean and organize tools, equipment, and work area including sweeping, mopping, and wiping oil, grease, and solvent spills.
  8. Experience with a suspended platform is a plus.
  9. Flexibility to perform tasks as needed depending on the scope of the project.
  10. Complete service reporting, work order documents, and records neatly, legibly, and correctly.
  11. Ability to read schematics.

Core Requirements:

  1. One year of hands-on wind experience.
  2. GE LOTO Certified.
  3. Requires a high school diploma or GED; wind school certificate a plus.
  4. Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as required.
  5. Able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  6. Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights of 300 feet.
  7. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and adverse and extreme weather conditions.
  8. Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
  9. Must reside in Texas or Oklahoma.
