This position: Full-time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project, including Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segments.

Role Overview

The VDC Manager leads the VDC department, overseeing preconstruction, engineering, and field installation of BIM-related project deliverables for the business unit or region.

Reporting Lines
  • Reports to: BU: Preconstruction Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Operations Manager
  • Regional: Regional Preconstruction Manager or Regional Operations Manager
  • Coordination with: Other VDC Managers
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Oversee activities of VDC Coordinators, Engineers, and Project Engineers, providing performance feedback.
  2. Visit job sites to troubleshoot BIM issues and resolve problems.
  3. Establish and monitor BIM standards for quality assurance.
  4. Provide expertise on local standards, owner standards, and project requirements.
  5. Advise project leadership on staffing during project setup.
  6. Conduct workshops and training on BIM applications.
  7. Develop relationships with engineers, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  8. Understand contract documents and related 2D and 3D deliverables.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus at least ten years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in BIM tools such as Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Revit, and Trimble SketchUp. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work involves on-site construction environment with exposure to mechanical parts, heights, fumes, weather, and noise.
