Position Overview: This position is for a full-time traveling assignment supporting an Advanced Technology project, including Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segments.

The VDC Manager leads the VDC department, overseeing preconstruction, engineering, and field installation of BIM-related project deliverables for the business unit or region.

Reports to: BU: Preconstruction Manager, Operations Manager, or Senior Operations Manager

Regional: Regional Preconstruction Manager or Regional Operations Manager

Additionally, maintains coordination with:

  • Other VDC Managers
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee activities of VDC Coordinators, Engineers, and Project Engineers, providing performance feedback.
  2. Visit job sites to troubleshoot BIM issues and resolve problems.
  3. Establish BIM standards for quality and monitor adherence.
  4. Provide expertise regarding local standards, owner standards, and project requirements.
  5. Advise Project Leadership on staffing during project setup.
  6. Conduct workshops and training on BIM application in preconstruction and projects.
  7. Develop relationships with engineers, design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and owner's representatives.
  8. Develop comprehensive knowledge of contract documents, including 2D and 3D deliverables.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus at least ten years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in BIM tools such as Navisworks Manage, Trimble SketchUp, Autodesk Revit. Strong communication, leadership, and interpretation skills.

Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, negotiate work areas, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment: On-site at construction sites with exposure to mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, weather, and electrical hazards. Moderate to loud noise levels.
