Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC, a leading Southeast general contractor, seeks an experienced traveling superintendent to lead large-scale water and wastewater utilities projects nationwide. The role requires coordinating field operations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring alignment with schedules, budgets, and contract documents.

Travel will be frequent by car and air; the candidate must travel to multiple sites, work outdoors in all weather, and maintain safety and compliance while directing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 8 years utilities construction experience preferred.
• 5 years supervisory experience in utilities construction.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater installation including meters and backflow preventers.
• Familiarity with OSHA rules and regulations.
• Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings and financial documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to present to owners and subcontractors.
• People management and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently by car and air.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather; physically capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all field operations on a project and coordinates subcontracted and self-performed work.
• Advocates safety as a priority and ensures compliance with standards.
• Supervises and coordinates management of construction projects with owners, designers, and subcontractors.
• Assists in developing the overall construction schedule.
• Prepares payroll submissions and HR/payroll documentation.
• Represents project during plan reviews and shop drawing coordination.
• Recruits, hires, and directs onsite field personnel.
• Procures tools and materials to align with project schedule.
• Determines staffing and material procurement for each phase.
• Travels to jobsites and coordinates inspections.
• Monitors progress reporting and schedule updates.
• Ensures compliance with subcontract terms.
• Coordinates regulatory inspections.
• Enforces company policies.
