Position Title: TIG Welder - Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel

Position Overview:
United Trades of America is currently seeking highly skilled TIG Welders with experience in Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel pipe welding for an upcoming project at a papermill facility in Demopolis, AL. This is a long-term opportunity involving a combination of new construction, shutdown, and repair work in an industrial environment. Candidates must be capable of producing high-quality welds that meet strict specifications and quality standards.
Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in industrial piping systems, the ability to interpret blueprints and isometric drawings, and a deep understanding of TIG welding processes on a variety of pipe materials and schedules. MIG welding experience is a plus and may be utilized in certain phases of the project.
Compensation & Schedule:
Hourly Pay Rate: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour (based on experience and skill level)
Per Diem: $120.00 per day worked (not paid on days not worked)
Schedule: Full-time, long-term assignment with potential overtime depending on site demand
Project Duration: Estimated 6+ months
Job Responsibilities:
Perform TIG welding on Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel piping to meet project specifications
Work on a variety of pipe systems during phases of new installation, system shutdown, and plant maintenance
Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and welding symbols accurately
Ensure all welds pass visual and structural inspection requirements
Maintain a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment at all times
Coordinate with project supervisors, QA/QC inspectors, and other trades as needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of TIG welding experience on industrial pipe; combination of carbon and stainless steel
Must have strong working knowledge of multiple pipe sizes and schedules
MIG welding experience is but not required
Must be able to provide your own hand tools and standard PPE (additional site-specific PPE may be provided)
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Attendance at a mandatory jobsite is required prior to start; this will cover safety protocols, site policies, and job expectations
