Job summary

Great Plains Communications is seeking a Telecommunications Network Field Engineer to support Central Office hardware in the Omaha area. The role involves regular travel to cover multiple markets and ensure reliable service.

You will perform maintenance, install and repair CO equipment, and collaborate with multiple engineering teams to meet customer needs and SLA targets while operating in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in field support of telephony networks.
• CCNA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on Central Office equipment.
• Install and repair Central Office equipment per manufacturer specifications and GPC standards.
• Troubleshoot network faults to meet SLA requirements.
• Collaborate with OSP, Transport, Voice, and IP Engineering for design, configuration, and testing.
• Coordinate with NOC for alarm monitoring and rapid fault resolution.
