Overview

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee underground utility construction projects with a focus on wastewater and sewer piping systems (not oil & gas). The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of field experience installing wet utilities and 5+ years of supervising heavy civil projects involving tunneling or underground piping systems. This role requires significant travel and strong leadership in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily field operations for underground utility projects, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversee crews installing wastewater/sewer piping and related wet utility systems.
  • Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the primary on-site leader, working closely with project managers, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and communicate project progress to management.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all job sites.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of field experience installing wastewater/sewer piping.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supervising heavy civil wet utility, tunneling, or underground piping projects.
  • Strong knowledge of underground construction practices, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally (80% travel, typically 17 days on / 4 days off).
