Kiewit is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on major civil projects. Based in Southern California, you will travel to Abilene, TX on TDY assignments, oversee daily crews, drive safe, on-time execution, and ensure quality across the project.

The role demands 3+ years as a superintendent, strong leadership and cost-control skills, and a commitment to safety. A technical degree is preferred and relocation support is available.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Deep knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control practices.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate all civil activities on assigned projects.
• Supervise and mentor civil crews, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials, and approve monthly job cost updates.
• Identify and resolve any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and providing regular project updates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
• Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management)
• Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff through performance evaluations

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Traveling Superintendent to join our construction operations team. This role is ideal for a construction leader who enjoys building complex projects, leading field teams, and delivering exceptional results while supporting projects across the country.

The successful candidate will be based in Southern California and will travel on assignment to Abilene, TX, where they will oversee daily field operations, drive project execution, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position is based in Southern California and requires travel to support work in Abilene, TX. The selected candidate will maintain a SoCal home base while working on-site in Abilene on temporary duty (TDY) assignment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/leadership capacity
• Associated or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents
• Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures and software programs.
• Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
• Ability to access all areas on a construction project site

Base Compensation: $115,000/yr - $130,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
