Role Summary
The Superintendent 2 will help plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects with some complexity. This position is responsible for managing material and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation is complete, and meeting project goals to ensure timely and profitable completion. Activities support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
SUPERINTENDENT FAMILY - CORE
- Leads all aspects of the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
- Manages subcontractors and organizes overall job workflow.
- Oversees staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs like Safety, Quality, and EEO.
- Develops work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinates project site care, custody, and control.
- Leads meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
- Participates in project progress and OAC meetings.
- Creates and manages project schedules, adjusting as needed.
- Tracks and monitors project budgets and costs.
- Communicates project information to stakeholders.
- Maintains project documentation and updates drawings/logs.
- Approves and records cost information, completes reports.
- Evaluates progress and adjusts plans accordingly.
- Manages material and equipment needs.
- Supports procurement processes.
- Assists in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment.
- Manages timecard approval for accurate reporting.
- Ensures quality compliance.
- Supports project closeouts and coordination activities.
- Participates in project pursuit and planning.
- Establishes field staffing and manages project changes.
- Participates in negotiations and project reviews.
- Leads talent recruitment and promotes diversity and inclusion.
Additional Responsibilities - Superintendents 2
Manages fairly complex projects from start to finish, including scheduling, safety, quality, risk management, and resource coordination. Participates in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Accurate, complete, and timely work performance.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of construction management fundamentals, project processes, and trades.
- Ability to build relationships, manage budgets, and apply Lean principles.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related (Preferred).
Experience
- 5+ years construction experience.
- 3+ years field supervision experience.
- Experience with Lean principles (Preferred).
Working Environment
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Travel and/or relocation may be required.
- Exposure to extreme conditions.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, etc.
