Job summary

ARCO Design/Build seeks a Battery Storage Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site field operations for BESS and power projects nationwide. You will oversee safety, scheduling, and coordination across electrical, civil, mechanical, and commissioning activities while supervising subcontractors and vendors.

You will coordinate with owners, utilities, inspectors, and the ARCO/Murray team to drive schedule, cost, and quality, ensuring turnover on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience on commercial, industrial, or power infrastructure projects.
• Direct experience with BESS, substations, renewable energy, power generation, or heavy electrical projects preferred.
• Strong communication skills with owners, utilities, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Proficient with construction documentation and scheduling tools (Procore experience a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site field operations for BESS and power-related projects from preconstruction through turnover.
• Manage safety, enforce site safety plans, OSHA requirements, and client/utility standards.
• Coordinate overall construction schedule across electrical, civil, mechanical, and commissioning activities.

ARCO/Murray is seeking a highly motivated & skilled Battery Storage Traveling Superintendent to join our Energy & Infrastructure team. As an ARCO/Murray Superintendent, you will have the opportunity to manage all of the administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations for your project from day one. Our goal will be to empower you in the field and give you, as well as the rest of your Project team, all the tools you’ll need to bring your project to completion on schedule, within budget, and per the project specifications!

A Day in the Life:

• Lead all on-site field operations for BESS and power-related projects from preconstruction through turnover

• Take total ownership of safety, enforcing site-specific safety plans, OSHA requirements, and client/utility standards

• Manage and maintain the overall construction schedule, coordinating electrical, civil, mechanical, and commissioning activities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical subcontractors, equipment vendors, and specialty contractors (HV, MV, LV)

• Oversee installation of:

• Coordinate utility interconnections, inspections, testing, and commissioning support

• Lead daily huddles, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety talks

• Track manpower, productivity, and site logistics on multi-trade, fast-track projects

• Review drawings, submittals, and RFIs; proactively identify constructability or sequencing issues

• Maintain jobsite documentation including daily reports, safety logs, and QA/QC records

• Partner closely with ARCO/Murray Project Managers to drive schedule, cost, and quality outcomes

Necessary Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Superintendent experience on commercial, industrial, or power infrastructure projects

• Direct experience with BESS, substations, renewable energy, power generation, or heavy electrical projects strongly preferred

• Strong understanding of:

• Proven ability to lead traveling project assignments (regional or nationwide)

• Strong communication skills with owners, utilities, inspectors, and subcontractors

• Comfortable operating in fast-track, design-build environments

• Proficient with construction documentation and scheduling tools (Procore experience a plus)

Typical base compensation for the Superintendent role is between $90,000.00 - $160,000.00. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to the base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company.
