Job summary

Zernco in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site construction for fast-paced ground-up projects. This role requires coordinating with Project Managers, client reps, and subcontractors to meet safety, schedule, quality, and budget goals across nationwide travel.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of commercial experience, knowledge of Divisions 1–16, and OSHA 30 certification, with the ability to mentor field staff and manage multiple crews on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in commercial ground-up construction.
• OSHA 30 certified and able to mentor field staff.
• Knowledge of Divisions 1–16; petroleum/fuel station or restaurant experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and budget goals.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and client reps to resolve conflicts and align with specs and codes.
• Oversee subcontractors to ensure scopes are understood and executed properly.
• Maintain accurate daily job reports, purchase orders, job site photos, and time logs.
• Facilitate weekly safety meetings and participate in incident investigations when necessary.
• Conduct site housekeeping, equipment oversight, and tool management.
• Lead project close-out efforts, including punch list completion, red-line drawings, and warranty submissions.
• Mentor field staff including Project Engineers, Foremen, and Carpenters.

We’re currently looking for a Superintendent living in the Wichita KS area to join our team. This is a hands‑on leadership role for an experienced commercial ground‑up Superintendent. Experience in building fast paced, quick turn around projects in the fuel/petroleum, retail, or restaurant industry is highly desired.

Nation wide travel is required and projects located near where you reside is not guaranteed.

What You’ll Do:

What We’re Looking For:

• Based in or near Wichita, KS
• Willing to travel nationwide once local projects are complete (return trips home twice per month or as project allows)
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial ground‑up construction
• Knowledgeable in Divisions 1–16; petroleum/fuel station or restaurant construction experience highly desired
• Proficient in blueprint reading and construction methods
• OSHA 30 certified
• Capable of physical labor on‑site: lift/carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs., stand/walk for long periods
